I don’t have any form of monetization on one of my blogs but I do on the others. The one that I don’t is kind of a test run to see what will happen by not having them. Bloggers are so use to seeing them that they rarely click on them anyways. I try to when I visit a blog that has adsense because I know that just one click can make a difference to them and I know that this is one way for bloggers to make money.

This way the commented code isn’t sent to web browsers. You can add comments there and no one will see them. I think it’s better and you don’t send garbage to the browsers..

is the delimiter of PHP code
/* */ is the delimiter of commented text in PHP

It depends on the blog. On my finance site google ads work very well, basically even a small number of clicks are worth alot. Because I make a bit on other blogs, its easier to feel its not worth bothering about the odd cent on this blog.

When I started blogging I of course shoved adsense everywhere!

I think you’re right about removing Adsense, but for a new blogger, it’s the easiest way to get adverts up. I have it on my site, and I think I’ll keep it until I have enough traffic to make real advertising a possibility.

Or do you think it would be better to get rid of the ads right from the start?

Thanks for the mention. You are right on to remove the Adsense codes. As I am sure you know, there are so many other better ways to monetize a blog.
